Full Cave Diver

This course is the combination of the whole series of TDI’s cavern/cave diver development programs. It is designed for experienced relaxed divers positively motivated, with excellent buoyancy and possessing all basic diving skills. The objective of this course is the perfection of skills through actual cave dives in different scenarios and conditions, (around Akumal there are so many different caves!), as well as outline specific techniques, procedures, skills and hazards of cave diving. It is taught in conjunction of Cavern, Intro to Cave and Decompression.

The TDI Cave course is the highest overhead rating offered by TDI. This course is for the serious adventurer wanting to explore further into the overhead environment, make jumps offs of main lines to adjoining passages. During the cave course, your TDI instructor will teach you the proper techniques for diving in a cave environment while maintaining a constant guideline. Your Cave instructor will cover topics and skills such as:

• Equipment configuration and preparation
• Body posture and trim
• Propulsion techniques
• Cave conservation
• Proper guideline procedures
• Lost line drills
• Buddy emergency procedures
• S drills
• Hand and light signals

Duration: 5 days.
Water work: 30+ cave dives (1500+ minutes bottom time).
Prerequisites: 15 yr old, Open Water Diver certification, 350 logged dives in various scenarios and conditions.
Course fee: USD$250 per day.
Certification: TDI.

• Primary lights
• 2 back up lights minimum
• Line markers/arrows (Arrows and cookies)
• 1 Reels primary and 1 reel jump
• Cave spool and jump spools
• Tanks and manifold
• Wetshort
• 2 Masks
• 7mm wetsuit or semidry wetsuit
• Wet book
• Dive tables
